USA Geography Plans

A few months ago I shared several changes we had made to Abby's second-grade curriculum.  My main goal was to simplify our schedule so we could get into a better routine and manage our time a lot better.  As we reached those goals, I began looking for fun add-ons that would not only enhance her learning, but also be engaging and something she would look forward to while still staying true to my main goal of simplifying.  One of those additions being geography and I'm excited to share our plans and resources!

Our core reference is Erica's Road Trip: USA.  I actually purchased this curriculum when Abby was in preschool and have been looking forward to using it for quite some time.  I also wanted to do a few things of my own like adding coloring/activity sheets, recipes, songs, literature, crafts and anything interesting I think she might like while also including activities that Summer could join in on.  I found so many exciting ideas via Pinterest that I wanted to combine many programs into one.  You can see more on my Pinterest board, Road Trip USA.

The resources listed above are ones I currently have and enjoy using with our program.  This list is constantly evolving as I find more products that work well.  My plan at this point is to cover one state per week as we finish Abby's second-grade year, continue into the summer months and also into her third grade year.  I'll be sharing our first week soon as we explore the United States of America!
