This week was our first St. Patrick's Day themed week!

We are essentially picking up where Raising Rock Stars Preschool left off with Raising Rock Stars Kindergarten. We are reviewing the Bible verses she learned before, but using more challenging activities.

Letter: J
Bible Verse: Jesus said to him, " I am the way, the truth and the life."

Abby usually does well with this cut/paste activity in regards to picking out the words she knows and sounding them out.  Of course, I'm usually close by to help when she asks or to observe how she's doing.  This week though, she did the entire verse correctly by herself!

You can learn more about the K4 Curriculum here, which we are currently using as our base.

St. Patrick's Day Theme

I made Abby a St. Patrick's Day sensory bin and Summer enjoyed her Rainbow Discovery Bottle!  You can read more about them here.

I also added a separate bin filled with emerald water beads which was a big hit!

Since January, we have been working on even and odd numbers a little more (mostly during calendar) and this activity from Homeschool Creations was perfect!  She sorted numbers 1-30 that I had scrambled up to make it a bit more challenging.  There are really many options with these cards such as: skip counting, forward/backward number sequencing, 1:1 counting, etc.

We used Over the Big Moon's St. Patrick Day Preschool Pack for tracing practice and do a dot fun.

I also found some "Lucky Clover" at Target a while back in the dollar section.  She added a few tablespoons of water to the medium, packed in a few seeds and updated me each day on her observations.  By the end of the week, we had a few sprouts and she was super excited.

We also began reviewing an awesome Bible curriculum, Bible Study Guide For All Ages: Ages 3-K.  Abby really enjoyed it and you can read more about Lesson One here.  We are looking forward to the next lesson soon!

We ended our week with a nature walk to Grandma's creek on a beautiful day...
