K4: Alphabet Review, RRSK: Aa and YCR: Unit 7

Abby is currently 4 years old.

You can learn more about the K4 Curriculum here, which we are currently using as our base.
This was our first week back to doing school since our nice, long Christmas break and what a busy week it was!
Abby's activities centered mainly around identifying uppercase and lowercase letters, reviewing letter sounds and even a brief introduction to vowels.  You can read more about Abby's current curriculum  choices here.
This is what I happened to capture during her week.
Putting together her A-Z puzzle...

Using our letter construction pieces to make alphabet letters...

Working on beginning sounds...

We are essentially picking up where Raising Rock Stars Preschool left off with Raising Rock Stars Kindergarten.  We are reviewing the Bible verses she learned before, but using more challenging activities.

Bible Verse: A soft answer turns away wrath.

Finding pictures with the 'A' sound...

Tracing her verse...

Following directions...
Unit: 7
 find, play, to, run
Abby loves sight words!  She was thrilled to have a new set of words to learn.

We have also added Road Trip USA into our year.  My main goal with this program is to introduce Abby to the United States in a fun and exciting way and give her the opportunity to learn some basic history and facts.  This week we talked about different regions and directions.

Coloring the map by region was a simple way to help her remember directions and understand regions.

I thought it would be fun to try the Draw Write Now series.  She did fantastic!  I helped outline her pencil drawing in black so she could color more easily, but she essentially completed the activity including handwriting by herself.

Abby's toy this week was her magnetic doll set.

Summer is now 5 1/2 months old and is very curious as to what Abby is up to on a daily basis.  She's becoming quite the character!

She's able to turn in circles, move herself backwards and roll to get to whatever she's after.
