Abby is 4 years old and Summer is 2.5 months old.
Since we took last week off and my plan is to be done with our current preschool program at the end of November, we doubled up our RRSP work this week focusing on letters R and J.
Sight Word: it
Bible Verse: Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Sight Word: said
Bible Verse: Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life.
I just recently began adding PowerPoint presentations to our daily routine by incorporating our weekly letter, number, color, etc., while also including shapes and random other activities such as rhyming, ordinal numbers and sight words, etc. She enjoys this approach and feels like a big girl being in charge of the computer and it helps reinforce certain ideas by putting a fun spin on learning.
While I was unable to capture our sight word review activities this week, we have been reviewing the 31 words Abby has learned over the past few months. Those words include You Can Read: Units 1-6 and also her Raising Rock Stars weekly sight words. After several reviews, I have identified her consistent problem words..a total of 7 which isn't bad, but in the next few weeks I want to reinforce those words and help build her confidence before we move any further. She really has done such a great job with this.
I pulled out our Autumn themed printables from last year for her to review and she flew very quickly through them. So, we ended up using many of our workbook activities to supplement, which was a nice change of pace.
We used several activities from this Fall Fun Preschool Pack.
Counting and number identification...
This was an activity she was too little for last year, it's amazing how much difference a year makes!
She went and grabbed our Halloween printables and wanted to do those activities too..so that's what we did.
She loves puzzles and put this particular one together at least 3 times.
Dot Painting Maze practicing numbers 1-15...
We worked on positional words with this cute activity.
She always loves pouring and transferring.
Summer patiently looks on while Abby and I are working together...most days.
She's growing up so fast and I have yet to capture a true Summer smile..I only get bits and pieces.
She's become a little talker and her and Abby can carry on quite the conversation.
We got out the little bouncer for her to play in. She scrutinized it for a few minutes, but then had a fun time bouncing and talking to the animals.
