Abby is currently 3 1/2 years old.

Preschool Corner

I am hoping this is my last WAY overdue post filled with non-existant/extended school weeks.  We have been two busy girls!

Letter: E
Color: Purple
Number: 6
Bible Verse: Proverbs 20:11
Sight Word: Is

We continue to review past weeks Bible verses and she is still remembering, which is very good.

Practicing for Letter E...

Sight word color by number...

Cutting her Bible verse..

ABC's, 123's, Shapes, Colors and Theme Printables

I did not bother with a theme, but she didn't seem to care...we did however do some pages in the mountains of workbooks I have and she found that fun and different.

We took a small trip back home to my parent's house to prepare for a garage sale.  While there, Abby used Starfall to do calendar, letter, number and reading activities.  She really enjoyed it!

She chose to work on her shape/color puzzle quite a bit.

Used a dot marker to find all the Ee's...

Tracing and following directions..

I printed this "Ee" sheet on cardstock so she could fingerpaint.  It started off so neat...

Then, she really got into it.  Needless to say by the end of the activity, letter E was hidden by purple paint. :-)

Unit: Two

This was our final review of Unit Two, as Abby is ready to move on.  We continue to review the previous unit and past sight words covered in RRSP, which totals to 10 words she has learned!  Our activities were mainly on the dry erase easel and on regular paper.  We made sentences, played word games..etc.

Games and Toys

She has really been enjoying her Zoobs recently, designing dinosaurs and houses.

We also played a few board games, which she really loved including Busytown: Eye Found It and Sequence for Kids.

To say Abby enjoys gymnastics would be such an understatement, she LOVES it!! She sings her Days of the Week song every day to figure out how close Wednesday is.  There are so many activities she gets to take part in--listening and following directions, hand-eye coordination, letter, numbers, shapes and non-stop moving PLUS she really enjoys seeing her friends each week.

She also picked up a new trade with the help of Uncle Brad while we were visiting at my parent's house...laying tile.  She still talks about what a "great helper" she was. :-)

Preschool Corner   Abby is 3 1/2 years old.

This past week was a bit extended and my blog writing quite overdue because of several reasons--I've been hit with an overwhelming need to organize and some Internet connectivity issues mixed with beautiful weather, as well.

Number: 5
Color: Orange
Bible Verse: John 3:16
Sight Word: For

Abby is doing so well with her Bible verse memorization.  We do review drills periodically throughout the week, mostly initiated by her, and she has remembered all five so far and takes such pride in herself.

Scissor practice...

Lacing yarn for her craft...

ABC's , 123's, Shapes, Colors and Theme Printables

We used themed resources from 2TeachingMommies.

Abby was teaching Dalmation Dog how to hopscotch in numerical order like she does at gymnastics.

She worked on number and letter tracing...

A cute shape activity...

Playing Candyland..a great way to encourage color, shape and counting skills, not to mention taking turns and winning and losing.

She put together a fun alphabet train puzzle while I made dinner.

Dalmation Dog also helped us during calendar time.

She also learned about parts of a flower.

Abby has done such a great job grasping sight words.  I have found some days she has trouble with two certain words (can, and), while other days she has no issues. We have continued to review Unit 1 added to Unit 2 and I think that has really helped keep everything fresh.  Her memory is pretty sharp when it comes to remembering what the word looks like. I have given her words verbally and she has verbally spelled them correctly back to me from memory...again some days are better than others.  :-)

Unscrambling the letters to create her word...

She likes these prewriting sheets, but she struggles with the patience to take her time.

I made a sentence by combining both YCR units and had her read it to me.  She thought it was alot of fun, so we made several sentence combinations.

And, she used our Melissa and Doug Alphabet Stamp set to stamp her sight words.  This was probably her favorite activity!

Abby LOVES pancakes!  She could practically live off them and well..milk.  She decided to make her a pretend pancake Playdough snack and play Ina Garten by putting on her own Food Network show to show me what to do.

I mean.."How Easy Is That?!"

Building Dalmation Dog a house out of scrap wood.

Posing before sliding in her inflatable bouncer...

Completely wiped out after a long day of playing...
