Abby is currently 3 1/2 years old.
I love the fact the Abby is reaching an age where she makes her opinion so clear...I say that and then I think back that she's been doing that most of her life..but I was stuck for letter "x" and what we could do. I asked her what she thought and she responded with, "X marks the spot, Aye Aye Matey." Pirates it is, then!
Sight Word: Little
Bible Verse: Matthew 18:3
This weeks Bible Verse, "....Except you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven" was a little difficult to memorize, but with help she does pretty well now.
She cut the verse and had to tape it in order by looking at the words.
Color by number sight word of the week...
ABC's, 123's, Shapes, Colors and Theme Printables
Practice counting and tracing the number of the week and following directions...
We also read and watched Peter Pan. I had her dictate the story to me, then she practiced her name on Peter Pan themed resources from Homeschool Creations.
From the same Peter Pan pack, we began learning about time with on the hour digital and analog matching cards.
We also used these pirate themed resources from Over the Big Moon, to practice beginning sounds.
Dalmation Dog assisted in helping Abby count and identify numbers.
More scissor practice...she is improving SO MUCH!
You Can Read
I introduced Abby to Unit 3 of the You Can Read program. She picked them up very quickly and you can obviously tell she enjoys learning new words, which is the point.
She chose her words in the order she wanted to read them to complete the pre-writing maze.
Her favorite, tracing..
We went on a Pirate Treasure Hunt. I pinned this cute guide on my Pirate Theme board on Pinterest.
She was getting frustrated..haha..I was taking too long. :-)
She used her foam blocks to build Dalmation Dog and Moose a house. Daddy helped get them dressed in bandanas so they could be pirates for awhile.
And, she searched for hidden treasures in the sand and dirt on a chilly first day of June.
Taking a break from all the hard work...
