Tot School- Letters W, X, Y and Z

Abby is 43 months old.

As I write this, we are on Spring Break and it is so beautiful outside, definately a walk in our future or a trip to the zoo.  Plus, it gives me a week to figure out where to go from here.  In a traditional sense, she would be officially starting preschool in August and I would have months and months to prepare.  However, with the new addition to our family coming in July..things I imagine are not going to be as smooth as it has been for the past few years.  In my quest to provide Abby the adequate time she needs and deserves, we will be starting her OFFICIAL preschool next week.

Here's a few reasons why:

1.  She loves school and is ready to move on to more challenging work.  She is a busy little girl and the Spring/Summer allows her so many learning and playing opportunities.

2.  Routine--this is our last few months as just Mommy and Abby to play and learn together, for me to get in the habit of taking attendance and being thorough with documentation.  Plus, this allows us to get several months of fun learning down so if we need to take breaks during the "normal" school year..we can without me feeling guilty when things are off balance.

3.  She is getting very open to telling me what she wants to learn regards to themes and books.  I'm excited for her to give me ideas and we learn what Abby wants to learn about.

With all that said, here's what she's been up to for the last few weeks..I mainy just had the camera out at playtime.

Letter W- We studied the Arctic and the Walrus.  We also learned about Polar Bears and Seals.

Letter X, Y and Z- We just did a variety of things with reading, writing on the easel and she really enjoyed Leapfrog Letter Factory and reviewing letter sounds.

Playtime at the creek..

Playing on the seesaw..

Taking a "trip"..

We also took a little field trip to the children's museum with my cousin and her two little kids.  They had alot of fun!  I left my camera at home and had to use my phone, so they aren't the best quality pictures.

Abby played in a big tray of rice.

She had a blast in the Water Deck.  It was a water factory and she was drenched..

Making music...

Doing what Abby does best (running and jumping) in a padded environment..

Being an artist..

Looking so grown up!
